Dr. Thomas Marshall joined the practice of Dr. McGibony & Associates in the summer of 2013. Dr. Marshall moved to the Statesboro area with his parents in 1990. He is the great-nephew of our own Dr. Henry J. Proctor, and has many family ties to the Bulloch County area.
Dr. Marshall is an honor graduate of Statesboro High School, class of 2005. He then attended the University of Georgia where he studied chemistry and graduated magna cum laude with honors. He then moved to Birmingham to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry, where he was the recipient of a four-year academic scholarship for scholastic achievement. While in school, Dr. Marshall participated in research on implant-supported dentures and removable partials, as well as enrolled in additional classes to enhance his endodontic techniques.
Dr. Marshall received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2013, and was the recipient of the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics Award for outstanding achievement and contribution to the field of prosthodontics (crowns, partials, and dentures).
He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association, as well as the Academy of General Dentistry. He has attended and volunteered with the Hinman Dental Meeting, as well as the UAB Alumni Association, and continues to pursue academic and clinical advancement. In addition, he has participated in missions work overseas, serving in dental clinics in Brazil and Guatemala.
Dr. Marshall and his wife, Marissa, were married in May of 2017. Dr. Marshall's parents, Tom and Vicky Marshall, are schoolteachers in the Bulloch County School System. Dr. Marshall has a fox-red yellow lab named Moose.
