Dr. Kathryn Mentzer was born and raised in Metter, GA. She was the 1987 Valedictorian of Metter High School; after graduating, she attended the University of Georgia and received a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Chemistry in 1991. She then attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, GA, where she received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 1995.
Upon completion, the Air Force moved her family to San Antonio, Texas where she resided and practiced for a year in a civilian practice, returning to Georgia the following year to practice in Valdosta from 1996 to 1998. She continued moving with her family for the next 15 years in the Air Force including assignments in San Diego, CA, Washington, DC, and Anchorage, Alaska.
She has maintained her dental licenses in Georgia and Texas since 1995 and has continued to improve her dental knowledge through continuing education courses to include the Hinman Dental Meeting, the Texas Meeting of the Texas Dental Association, and the Federal Services Dental Meeting in Anchorage, Alaska. After many years away, she has recently moved back to Georgia, and has been a volunteer with the Hearts and Hands Dental Clinic in Statesboro.
Dr. Mentzer currently resides in Metter with her two daughters and son.
