Dramatically Enhance Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can be a great choice if you want to correct several cosmetic imperfections at once. These thin, custom-crafted restorations are bonded to the front of your teeth. Once in place, they can hide surface blemishes and even change the shape of your smile. Our doctors craft and place porcelain veneers using the most advanced technologies to ensure your comfort and beautiful results. Our digital imaging systems mean your veneers will have a near-perfect fit and a natural appearance. Comprehensive Rejuvenation

Laughing woman against red wallpaperPorcelain veneers are wafer-thin shells that attach to the front of your teeth, helping form a new façade for your smile. Dr. McGibony and his team may recommend veneers for a wide range of cosmetic applications. Veneers can conceal surface imperfections, such as chips, small cracks, and internal staining. They can also enhance the edges of your teeth, especially if you have suffered mild to moderate dental erosion. These porcelain restorations can even be used to make minor orthodontic corrections, helping change the shape of your smile. For instance, they may be a good choice if you have unusually small or irregularly shaped teeth, gaps in your smile, or a few slightly crooked teeth.

My first visit to Dr. McGibony's office today was awesome! I am so thankful that I chose to come here! The staff was so friendly and helpful! Dr. Marshall, Sarah, Victoria, Candace, and Mrs. Cynthia made me feel so comfortable and relaxed during my appointment. I am so excited to have my treatment done here and I can't wait to see everyone again on my next appointment! Thanks so much for a perfect dental exam!

Preparing for Your Treatment

During your first visit, we will carefully reshape the tooth or teeth being treated. By removing a thin layer of enamel, your cosmetic dentist can make room for the veneers so that they sit flush with surrounding teeth. Then we will take digital impressions using our iTero® scanner or CEREC® imaging system. We proudly use advanced imaging technology to ensure a highly lifelike appearance for your veneers. Thanks to digital technology, we can also obtain highly accurate impressions with no need for messy putty or powders.

Creating and Placing Veneers

We will send your impressions to our partner lab, where ceramists will create your veneers. We have been working with the same lab for years, thanks to the outstanding caliber of their work. Typically, it will be about two weeks before we receive your veneers back from the lab. During this time, we will supply temporary veneers to prevent tooth sensitivity. When your permanent veneers are finished, your dentist will make sure they fit comfortably with your bite pattern. Then he or she will secure them to your teeth using dental resin.

In addition to traditional veneers, we also offer LUMINEERS®, a type of minimal-prep veneers. These veneers are much thinner than traditional porcelain veneers, and require little to no tooth preparation. However, because they are more translucent, they are not suitable for everyone. We will help you select the right type of veneers for your cosmetic goals.

Are Veneers Right for You?

If you suffer from common aesthetic concerns, veneers may be an excellent solution. To qualify for treatment, you must have sufficient healthy enamel remaining. If you have lost enamel, Dr. McGibony or one of his team members may recommend another option, such as LUMINEERS® or dental bonding. In addition, to qualify for any cosmetic procedure, you should have good oral health. If you suffer from decay or gum disease, you should seek restorative treatment before enhancing the look of your smile.
